Flying Start Program

All our centres are now partnered with the South Australian Government’s new Flying Start Preschool Program for children from three years.

The program has already commenced at Wendy’s, and will start in Term 3, 2026 at Cranley House and Ashgrove House, and will start in Term 1, 2027 at Wanslea

The Flying Start Preschool Program

The Flying Start Program provides funding for eligible children with access to up to 15 hours of preschool each week. Flying Start funding allows additional curriculum programs and allied health support which promotes children’s development, as well as ongoing professional learning and training for our educators. This strengthens teaching practice and helps us continue to build strong foundations that support children’s successful transition into school. Families accessing the program through our service may also continue to access Child Care Subsidy support where eligible.

Enrolling in Flying Start

Enrolling in Flying Start is very simple — all that is required is signing a Registration of Interest / Declaration and Consent form. Once the form is completed, we take care of everything else on your behalf. There is no cost to families to enrol in this program.

The more children who are enrolled in Flying Start, the greater the level of support and enrichment we are able to offer overall.

What will it look like for my child?

Our Flying Start Program is led by experienced, degree-qualified early childhood teachers and is designed around meaningful play, relationships, exploration, literacy, numeracy, inquiry learning, and social development. The funding helps support small inclusive groups for children by allied health professionals, along with educator upskilling and resources.

Children in our Flying Start Preschool Program will benefit from:

  • Access to allied health professionals, e.g. speech therapy, physiotherapy

  • Small group experiences and individualised support

  • Opportunities to build independence and confidence

  • Early literacy and numeracy experiences

  • A strong sense of belonging and connection

  • Rich indoor and outdoor learning environments

  • A gentle and supported transition toward school

  • Teachers and educators involved in additional training and development to help support quality programs.

With small group sizes, secure, warm homelike environments, and passionate teachers and educators who nurture, connect and inspire, our Flying Start Preschool Program offers your child enriched learning opportunities to help them have the best start at school and beyond.

We look forward to supporting your child to have the very best flying start to learning and life.
